What We Make: Dental Cotton Roll Specifications
Dental cotton rolls are small, firm cylinders of absorbent cotton. Dental staff place them in the mouth to soak up saliva and keep the work area dry. We make them from 100% cotton that we bleach ourselves, in any diameter from 8 to 30 mm and any length; the standard dental sizes are 8 to 14 mm across and 38 mm long.

Dental Cotton Roll Sizes: Size 1 to 4 in mm and Inches
Most dental rolls are 38 mm (1½ in) long and come in four diameters. We quote by diameter and length in millimetres, and can make any diameter from 8 to 30 mm, cut to any length.

Size 2, #2 or 10 mm?
Size numbers are a trade habit, not a standard. A US #2 medium roll is 3/8 in, about 9.5 mm across, while a European Size 2 is 10 mm, and brands differ by a millimetre or so for the same number. That is why we quote by diameter and length in millimetres. To match the rolls you buy now, send a photo next to a ruler or post us a few rolls.

WJ Cotton makes dental cotton rolls at its own factory in Wucheng County, Dezhou, Shandong, China. We bleach the cotton and card it into cotton sheet ourselves, then form, cut and pack the rolls.
